Changes at Principle Fitness

ANNOUNCEMENT

I have have taken the position of Head Triathlon Coach in the Performance Center of CycleLife DC, www.cyclelifeusa.com, a new cycling lifestyle facility in Georgetown.  What is a "cycling lifestyle facility"?  It is a facility designed to offer all the services that cyclist could need: coaching, testing, 3-D bike fitting, strength training, group training, fully staffed bike service center with turnaround times a fraction of what bike shops can offer, bike valet so commuters don't have to lock their bikes outside, massage therapy, first class locker rooms, lounge, cafe, and a retail center.  All in a gorgeous setting on the water in Georgetown.

You say, "Well that sounds great, Eric.  But what does that mean for me?"  The only change you will see compared to what you have received from Principle Fitness is more responsive communication and a more knowledgeable coach.  Because I am now, for the first time, a full-time triathlon coach -- not personal trainer, not a bookkeeper, not business owner -- I will be able to be more reponsive to your needs and requests.  There will also be more time to expand hmy knowledge of how to help you become a better athlete.  You'll be able to receive more services and have more options.

Some other questions you may have:

What about the Masters swim team?
The swim team will continue on just as before.  I will be the coach.  The locations and times will be the same.

What is happening with Principle Fitness?
I will be turning out the lights on Principle Fitness.  After six+ years of hard work, it will be sad to see it go.  But the whole point of Principle Fitness was not to run a business, but to do what I love -- helping athletes to reach their goals.  Through CycleLife, I now have the chance to do an even better and more fulfilling job of doing just that.

The coaches that have worked for me will continue to work with those clients that they have always had.  Those individual coaches will handle the billing for them.  Letting go of the relationships I have with these coaches is definitlely one of the hardest parts of this decision.  They have been incredibly loyal and each holds a special place in the history of Principle Fitness.

The website will remain up for the foreseeable future for those who need information about the PF coaches, masters swimming and other services.

Do I have to come to Georgetown to work with you?
No.  I still live in Falls Church and I will be mobile.  While I will be spending a lot of my time at CycleLife and certainly would like to see you take advantage of the facility, as always, I am able to communicate from wherever I am.

What about the Indoor Bike Classes?
Indoor cycling classes will be offered on Monday and Thursday evenings on CompuTrainers and CycleOps spin bikes with built-in power meters.

Can I see the place?
Absolutely.  You are welcome to come down any time.  I'll give you the personal tour.

The decision to step away from Principle Fitness, something that I spent so much time and energy building and developing, was perhaps the most difficult decision I have ever made.  In the end, however, this is an opportunity to coach like I've always wanted to coach, and to offer you, the clients, more services then ever before.  The people at CycleLife support that vision and I hope you will share in my enthusiasm at being able to do an even better job of supporting you.

If you have any questions, concerns, or just want more information, drop me a line.  I'm very excited to talk about this new adventure!

Sincerely,

Eric Sorensen
